  4.     DIED. Louis Nelson, 87, veteran New Orleans trombonist;
  5. following a car accident; in New Orleans. He played with many
  6. of the Crescent City's greats, including Sidney Desvigne,
  7. George Lewis and Kid Thomas Valentine. Equally adept at the
  8. brash tailgate style and silky-smooth ballads, Nelson was an
  9. original member of the Preservation Hall band.
